Supporting Rural Communities
Cumbria County Council
Mobile libraries are important in rural communities but tend only to visit them for an hour or so each week. Library Link is a service being used in Cumbria whereby local shops host a computer terminal linked to the entire library service catalogue. Library users can request, borrow and return books right where they do their shopping. LGAtv pays a visit and finds out how the Library Link is providing a valuable service to rural people as well as supporting rural economies.
