John Ransford on the recent bad press around Social Services
The new head of the Local Government Association John Ransford tells the Local Government Channel why 1 in 7 posts in social services remains unfilled and how he thinks the economic downturn could provide the ideal opportunity to attract more talent into the sector. Following the recent Baby P scandal and the Commission for Social Care's annual report criticising a "one size fits all approach" to social care, reporter Sam Hughes asks where is it all going wrong?
