Building Works Manager, Plymouth City Council
From an apprentice at 16, Len has worked his way up to Head of Building Works, which he has transformed into a Tenant focused service. An award was created for him by tenants for his outstanding contribution. Len runs a scheme to encourage females into traditionally male roles e.g. plumbing, for female tenants who feel uncomfortable with males in their homes. The out-of-hours team is run by Len who has lead recovery operations during a number of emergency situations such as a recent gas explosion. Len's motto is "It's all in a days work" and nothing is too much trouble.
