Doorstep Project Manager, Cambridgeshire County Council
Cathy Inman commenced her career in local government at Hertfordshire libraries, transferring to their Trading Standards Service in 1999. In 2004 she joined Cambridgeshire Trading Standards Services as a Consumer Advisor, handling all types of consumer complaints and enquires. When the opportunity arose two years ago to develop a new role dealing with doorstep crime against older and vulnerable people, Cathy jumped at the chance. She now coordinates a team that responds to incidences of rogue doorstep selling. She also works in close partnership with the police employed Rogue Trader Liaison Officer, giving talks and presentations to the police, vulnerable groups and residents - educating them on doorstep issues.
