Paul Burrows - Winner 2007!!
Senior Project Officer, Adult Services Department
Hampshire County Council
Profoundly deaf himself and for a time suffering from chronic ME, Paul discovered his initiative when one of his three children was diagnosed with speech and language impairments and learning disabilities. After giving up his job and making a dramatic career change, Paul devised a simple computerised form that has replaced over 28 separate documents, with a one fit-for-purpose county-wide form. This cuts through time spent on paper work freeing up Hampshire's frontline social workers to spend more time doing what they do best, caring for people.
