Lisa Cooper
Team Manager, North Tyneside Council
Lisa is a manager of a team of social workers and became involved with a case that would not normally be part of her usual role. Lisa went above and beyond what would normally be expected in her job to ensure the safety of a young child with learning difficulties. This involved traveling abroad days before Christmas to collect a child who had suffered significant harm of a very serious nature. Lisa maintained an excellent relationship with the child ensuring that she kept the child updated about the criminal prosecution. She supported the child through court as the child's family were involved in the criminal proceedings and so had no other support. The police have written to the team to formally acknowledge the excellent work that Lisa did throughout the investigation process. They commended 'her commitment and professionalism during this extremely harrowing process.'
